Plus One Magazine aims to bring you the latest previews, live reviews, dates and news from bands playing in and around Nottingham, Midlands and beyond.

We are a team of like minded, music enthusiasts, not connected to any group, organisation or venue.

If you wish to get in touch, the address can be found on the home page.

Here's the complete crew below so far on the good ship Plus One.

Reviewers, photographers, interviewers, gig goers, we all do it for the same reason - the love of music in all it's forms.

The names haven't been changed to protect the innocent, ages haven't been disclosed in all cases on strict orders of the editor/creator!

FAITH CASTLE

JIM HALL

I'm Faith (codename:squirrel) -behind the scenes evil genius/mastermind at Plus One. Sorter-outer of

things and the glue that holds Pete's head together (kind of).

I see myself as intelligent, creative, punctual and a well-rounded individual... oops, I thought this was my CV?!

Lover of all things dirty - well, musically that is. Favourite noises include Nine Inch Nails, Mclusky(RIP!), Death From Above 1979(RIP!!) and Tool.

I can be bribed with JD & coke... just in case you ever need that information.

ROBIN HOSGOOD

Jim. 19. Student of Education Studies and English at Derby University.

A dreamer. One who has hope for the world in how I view it. Music shapes everything, making life that little more beautiful, breathtaking. Writer. [Or at least, one who adores putting it all down in words, making attempts to describe the indescribable] Traveler. I wish to take in as much of this world as I can. Enthusiasm is my treasured quality, passion towards whatever I do another.

It's hard to describe myself in this mere box, so THIS will pretty much tell you all you could ever wish to know about who I am: www.myspace.com/manofmusic87

Let's make it all worthwhile. :]

PETE JACKSON

Well, i'm Robin, 28, and getting older by the day. Been photographing ever since i got my first camera at the tender age of 5..... ok, that's a lie... we struggling freelance photographer type people have to finance our own passions, so it wasnt until I got my own first SLR camera 'back in the day' that the passion kicked in. I had the tool, the weapon of choice, the "stealer of souls" as some may also call it. I had a camera. So, ever since 2001, my passion began to slowly grow until the ultimate accolade of a gig/festival photographer came to fruition; meeting Slash backstage at Download 2005 :O) (and a few other bands too of course).

Was that the pinnacle of being a photographer? Absolutely not. That's where the happy folk at PlusOne come in. I'm the newest member of this band of men (and women), and im here to stay.

Musical tastes? Anything and everything; it's not about the style, it's about the song for me. When i'm not doing gig/festival photography, you'll either find me sat on my ass at a PC, down the local pubs around Nottingham, in my own personal photo studio at home, or stuck behind a counter in a computer shop during my day job (hey, gotta pay the bills somehow!).

It's fair to say i've moved around, done many different jobs and caused endless worry and "when's he going to sort himself out?" type questions from my loved ones up in Yorkshire.

Moved to Nottingham permanently in 2003 and set up Plus One Magazine in my spare time. Got a like minded team together and gigged fanatically ever since.

Had the pleasure and sometimes misfortune of seeing loads of bands live. Enjoyed reviewing, photographing, interviewing and judging local, national, and international artists from all walks of life.

And if any tickets don't arrive, or guest lists are at fault for this team of eager enthusiasts, it all lands at my feet!

Hi. Been a member of the Plus One team back in the early days of its blanketing of Nottingham in 2003, now largely a flawed member of the team, too often stuck behind a computer when Plus One’s main duo have been having 5 wicked nights out of 7 at gigs aboot toon!

Specialising in alt-hip-hop, folk and the brighter side of indie, I can also be found working on ShadowPlay fanzine (an excuse) and Faces for Radio on Tuesday nights on sureradio.com (an excuse for a joke). Currently residing in Sheffield.

STUART RICK

ALEX LAWSON

ALEX LAWSON

Nicknames: Tricky 2 and The Iron Boar (Don't ask)

Personal: 19 Years old, studying for a forensic science degree at the Nottingham Trent University.

I play drums, bass, guitar and learning keyboards as we speak. Into lots of different styles of music but at the moment my favourite bands/artists include: The Feeder, Weezer, The Killers, The Jubilees, The Klaxons, Jeff Buckley, Scott Matthews, Led Zeppelin, Jay Z, Nas, Muse, Jamie Cullum and too many more to list here.

In short music is my life and if I am not playing it I am listening to it or writing about it.

BARNESY

I am short, tattooed, 29 years young *chokes* , and incredible evil, but I do like my music... my current tastes range from NiN to Tori Amos and I also love a little bit o Jonny Cash and The Squirrel Nut Zippers....... eclectic? Hopefully.

My current plans are to finish my second degree, which is in Creative Writing, Popular Culture and media, oh and take over the world...or at least create my own cult. I too can be bribed with JD but I also wont sniff at a Sailor Jerry or dirty vodka.....I also indulge in photography, writing words for Graphic Novels, spoken word pieces, which I have been known to perform, various prose and sing in a metal/rock type band...... with four big hairy men....

its all fun!

I'm Barnesy, and this gathering of pixels you see here is where I am going to put a little synopsis on myself. I'll include things like how I'm 21; a photographer and a writer, and my greatest passion, as it is for a lot of people, is music. Which is why I love having the opportunity to work for Plus One Magazine.

I've decided I'll leave out anything bad; glossing over my terrible flaws and moments of foolishness, so for those who don't already know me yet I'll come across in a positive light. Contrariwise, I won't include too much information about any of my fine accomplishments and noble qualities, at the risk of appearing to be nothing more than a bumptious buffoon.
